Program for Collaborative Research in the Pharmaceutical Sciences (PCRPS)
What is PCRPS?
- PCRPS is a Center in the UIC College of Pharmacy that is dedicated to bringing together scientist and resources for research in the field of natural products and pharmacy
- In addition to research, teaching, and service activities, the faculty and scientist in PCRPS are deeply committed to the development of inter-department and inter-college programs at UIC
- PCRPS also supports and coordinates international research programs at the UIC College of Pharmacy. As part this, PCRPS serves a global health function as the UIC WHO Collaborating Centre on Traditional Medicine
- PCRPS was founded in 1982. Dr. Norman R. Farnsworth served as PCRPS Inaugural Director for three decades. His successor in this role is Dr. Guido F. Pauli
