Program for Collaborative Research in the Pharmaceutical Sciences (PCRPS)

What is PCRPS?

  • PCRPS is a Center in the UIC College of Pharmacy that is dedicated to bringing together scientist and resources for research in the field of natural products and pharmacy
  • In addition to research, teaching, and service activities, the faculty and scientist in PCRPS are deeply committed to the development of inter-department and inter-college programs at UIC
  • PCRPS also supports and coordinates international research programs at the UIC College of Pharmacy. As part this, PCRPS serves a global health function as the UIC WHO Collaborating Centre on Traditional Medicine
  • PCRPS was founded in 1982 by Dr. Norman R. Farnsworth, who served as Inaugural Director for three decades. Currently, PCRPS is directed by Dr. Guido Pauli
